1. In the RES directory, find and double-click on the RouteExportTool.exe to open RES Configuration (Figure 4):

  1. Next to the Service Settings File text box, click the to browse and locate ServiceSettings.json. This file should be located where RES was installed. By default, this is C:\DRTrackRouteExportTool\.


NOTE: If RES is being re-installed on a machine where it was previously installed, then the previous RES path may be the default path in Windows Explorer when selecting the Service Settings File - make sure you navigate to the new install location (C:\DRTrackRouteExportTool) to select the latest file.


  1. Click on the Edit Services Setting button (Figure 5):

    1. Enter the Polling Frequency in minutes (Figure 5).

      1. This entry controls how often the service will look to see if it needs to produce a Route Export File.

    2. Enter the output path of where you would like the file to be created (Figure 5).

    3. Change the name of your output file using either the parameters in the dialog, or a custom name. By default, the output file will be named {0}-routes-{1}.txt. (Figure 5).

    4. Enter your Web Service Username and password (Figure 5).

      1. This is the username and password not for DRTrack but given to you by Trimble Support or your ITC.

    5. The Export Setting File Name should be defaulted to ExportSetting.json, and does not need to be changed.

    6. Click Save when you are done (Figure 5).

  1. Click on the to browse and locate ExportSettings.json. This file should be located where RES was installed. By default, this is C:\DRTrackRouteExportTool\.

  1. Click Edit Export Settings button (Figure 6).

  2. Check the boxes with the type of data you wish to include in the export file. The types of data are:

    1. Starting Terminal.

    2. Ending Terminal.

    3. Header row with line item names.

    4. Consolidated Line Items. NOTE: If using lime item/SKU data, this option will roll all items to the order level with quantities/volumes for each order.

    5. Branch IDs. This defaults to ALL. To specify branches, list them followed by a comma (e.g.: branch1,branch2, branch3).

    6. Date Format. This defaults to MM/dd/yyyy. There are eight date formats available from the dropdown list.

    7. Day Format. This defaults to the first three letters of the day (e.g.: Mon). There are three formats available from the dropdown list.

    8. Time Format. This defaults to HHmm, or 24h time with a leading zero (e.g.: 5:40am would be formatted as 05:40). There are three time formats available from the dropdown list.

    9. Route Status Options. This field determines when a new file will be generated after the initial export. There are four options available from the dropdown list:

      1. AllRoutesModified: Anytime a route has a change made to it.

      2. DispatchDate: One export based on Dispatch date for each route created.

      3. RouteFinalizedDate.

      4. PlannedStart.

    10. Select additional fields you wish to include in the export file. Each field has two additional options:

      1. Character length of field entry.

      2. Left or right justification.

    11. When you are done, click Save. This closes the Export Settings dialog and returns you to the RES window (Figure 4). Close this window when you are done.
