The Text Tool enables the placement of a text box on the map, similar to a text box on a presentation. It can be used to label territories, areas, or regions. Select and change font, style, size, color, and patterns, and choose borders around the text box.
- Click the Text Tool from the toolbar.
- In the text dialog box that appears, type the text you want to appear on the map.
- Check the box next to Draw Borders to outline the box if desired.
- Choose the font type, style, and size.
- If you want the size of the text to change with the change in map size (zoom in/out), click Scalable.
- Select Fixed Size if you want the size to remain the same regardless of the map position/size.
- When all options have been chosen, click OK.
- Click the area of the map where you wish to place the text, then type what you wish to add.
- To reposition the text, drag the text box and move it to the desired location.
To clear the text box from the map, select Map > Tools > Clear Drawings from the toolbar and click on the text box you wish to clear.
