An Asset is a vehicle identifier. Each Asset has a Name, which should be unique within the branch, and a Type, which should be a standard, shared description of the type of truck (e.g. Box, Lift, Semi.) Name and Type are created by Resource Calendar users in whatever format works best to identify and sort a fleet’s vehicles in Daily Planner.

Anyone with Can Manage Trucks permissions in DRTrack can add, edit, or delete assets on the Assets page.

Create Asset Types

Before adding assets, you will want to create Asset Types for all of the vehicles in your fleet.

  1. Select the Show Asset Types (the gears icon) at the top of the Assets page.
  2. The Asset Types panel opens on the right side of the page.
  3. Select Create Asset Type (the plus button) at the top of the Asset Types panel.
  4. The Create Asset Type dialog opens. Enter an Asset Type Name that best describes a type of vehicle in your fleet. Routable is automatically checked for new assets.
  5. Select Create to finish. The new asset type is available when creating new assets.
  6. Continue creating asset types until you have your entire fleet covered.

Add an Asset

  1. Select Create Asset (truck icon) at the top of the Assets page.
  2. The Create Asset dialog opens.
  3. Enter your asset information. Asset Name, Asset Type, Activation Date, and Termination Date are all required fields. (The dates automatically default to a 10-year period from today’s date.) Show on Route Calendar is also checked by default.
  4. Select Create to finish.
  5. The asset is added to the Assets table.

Delete or Edit an Asset

  1. Hover your mouse over the asset you want to edit or delete.
  2. A pencil icon and a three dots icon appear on the right side of the asset’s row in the Asset table.
  3. Select the pencil to open the Edit Asset dialog or the three dots to delete the asset.

Edit an Asset

In the Edit Asset dialog, you can change the asset’s name, type, and activation and termination dates. You can also view, add, or edit a Vehicle Maintenance schedule. It allows you to:

  • Designate periods where vehicle maintenance is needed for an asset.
  • View in the Dashboard’s Gantt chart when an asset is not available to be deployed because it is due for maintenance.

Vehicle Maintenance Panel

  1. Enter a start and end date/time for maintenance.
  2. Check Recurring event if the maintenance is scheduled regularly. When checked, a drop-down list appears where you can select the maintenance frequency.
  3. Add a description of the maintenance.
  4. Select Add Maintenance to add it to the asset’s Maintenance Log.

View Assets Undergoing Maintenance

When an asset is undergoing maintenance, it appears in the Dashboard’s tracking chart as a grayed out period of time when it is not available.

Search or Filter Assets

You can search or filter the display of assets in the Assets page table using the features shown below.

  1. Select a column to organize the chart in ascending or descending order.
  2. Select the Search (magnifying glass icon) to search for an asset by name.
